Privacy policy

What this site stores, what we collect and the choices you have.

Draft for legal review.

Last updated: November 2, 2026.

This policy explains how GP Retail Inc, which runs Glasses Perfection at glassesperfection.ca, handles personal information. It follows the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Law 25, which amended Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Person in charge of personal information

The person in charge of protecting personal information is the Privacy Officer, GP Retail Inc. You can reach this person at support@glassesperfection.ca.

What this demo stores

This site is a demo for review. No orders are taken and no payment is charged. You do not need to give us any personal information to visit it.

The demo stores only these three things:

The cart and the animation choice stay on your device, and we do not receive them. You can clear all three at any time in your browser settings.

This demo uses no analytics and no advertising trackers.

Fonts load from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address the way any web server does. Our web host also receives that technical data to deliver the pages. These servers may be outside Quebec and outside Canada.

If you email us

When you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write. We use this to answer you.

When the store takes orders

To fill an order, we will need your name, email address, shipping address and what you ordered. We will use this to process and ship your order, answer you, handle returns and keep the records the law requires. Your payment will go through a payment provider.

We collect personal information with your consent or as the law allows, only for the purposes set out here.

[To confirm with the owner: which payment, analytics and advertising services the live store will use. This policy must list them before launch.]

Prescriptions are health information

A prescription is health information, and the law treats it as sensitive. The same goes for your pupillary distance when you send it with a prescription.

When you email us your prescription, you give us your express consent to use it for one purpose: to review your order and make your lenses. We use it for nothing else.

Who can see your information

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:

Some of these may be outside Quebec or outside Canada. Your information may then be subject to the laws of those places.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for these purposes, or as long as the law requires. After that, we destroy it or make it anonymous.

[To confirm with the owner: how long we keep orders, emails and prescriptions, and where they are stored.]

How we protect it

We protect personal information with safeguards that match how sensitive it is. Regular email is not fully secure, so send your prescription only to support@glassesperfection.ca, and leave out any health details we do not ask for.

If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will notify you, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

If you live in Quebec, you can also ask us to:

This demo makes no automated decisions about you. To use any of these rights, write to the Privacy Officer. We reply within 30 days.

Marketing email

This site has no newsletter. Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we will not add you to a marketing list without your express consent. Any marketing email would name GP Retail Inc, give our address and include a working unsubscribe link.

Children

A parent or guardian gives consent for a child under 14, including when sending a child's prescription.

Questions and complaints

Write to the Privacy Officer first at support@glassesperfection.ca. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. In Quebec, you can also go to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
